Tasnim – Persepolis football team earned its second win in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
The Reds defeated Foolad 3-0 in front of 40,000 spectators in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Siamak Nemati found the back of the net in the 20th minute from a long-range shot.
Foolad defender Sina Moridi was sent off in the 50th minute after receiving his second yellow card.
Godwin Mensha extended Persepolis’s lead in the 65th minute and Nemati scored his second goal ten minutes later.
Persepolis, who had defeated Padideh 1-0 in the IPL first week, went top of the table with six points.
Furthermore, Sepahan humiliated Sepidrood 6-1 in Rasht, Tractor Sazi was held to a 1-1 draw by Nassaji in Tabriz, and Sanat Naft drew 1-1 with Gostaresh in Abadan.
