TEHRANTIMES - Newly appointed Persepolis coach Manuel Jose said that he will do his best for the Iranian giant, however he urged patience.

In the news conference held at the Iran’s football training camp on Saturday, Jose said, “When I went to Egypt to take charge of Al Ahly, I only knew about the pyramids, but I won 20 title championships in eight years.”

“I want to win our games – that’s why I am here. But I cannot guarantee we will win the title. First, we have to organize our team and this takes time. Persepolis had to start its pre-season 45 days ago and with 13 days remaining, we have a difficult job to prepare our team,” the 66-year-old Portuguese said.

“I’ve seen films of Persepolis and I think our players are capable of winning the games. I’ve come here to change things and since the Persepolis’ officials have trusted me I will have to give them a positive result,” Jose added.

Nine-time Iranian champions Persepolis finished the 2011-12 Iranian Pro League season in 12th place and bowed out of the 2012 AFC Champions League in the 16th round.
