PFDC - BRAUNSCHWEIG, Eintracht Braunschweig might not seem the most prestigeous team in European club football, however, goalkeeping shooting star Daniel Davari might be worth more than just a quick look for Iran boss Carlos Queiroz.

The 24-year-old half-Iranian and half-German emerged as the Bundesliga 2 club's first goalkeeper this season, helping the newly promoted side to stay away from the relegation zone and to an impressive eighth position in the table after 31 of 34 rounds.

Davari was born in German town of Gießen in January 1988 and went through two local club side's football schools before joining FSV Mainz' youth team in 2004. After two seasons in Mainz' reserve squad from 2007-2009, Davari joined Eintracht Braunschweig where he was promoted to the first team after one year.

Being used as backup goalkeeper for veteran Marjan Petkovic, he only had three appearances in Braunschweig's successful plight for promotion in 2010/11.

However, on matchday four in German Bundesliga 2 in the following season, Davari was given a chance he should immediately take.

With Petkovic injured, Davari took over and quickly impressed coaching staff and crowds so that he remained as first goalkeeper even upon the return of Petkovic.

The 1,92 meters tall Davari doesn't only impress with his coolness, but also, especially recently, had some matchwinning performances and would be a more than interesting option for Iran's national team, which traditionally is not blessed with too many reliable keepers.

Daniel Davari reportedly already holds the Iranian citizenship beside his German. As he has no German youth national team caps to his name, the administrative paperwork should not be as complicated as in previous cases, such as Ferydoon Zandi or Ashkan Dejagah.

Name: Daniel Davari
DOB (age): January 6, 1988 (24)
Position: Goalkeeper
Current Club: Eintracht Braunschweig
Height: 192 centimeters; 6''3''
Market Value: 600.00€ (790.000$)*

Team Melli future probability: 50% - Having a shortage of solid goalkeepers on one side and getting a chance to play international football on big stage basically should make a win-win situation. However, considering Davari has not been on Carlos Queiroz' observation list so far and the uncertainty if the half-Iranian would be willing to play for Iran at all, Davari's Team Melli future is far less than certain, however, all but impossible.
