Sportalasia- Iran national coach Miroslav Blazevic said
on Friday that he is likely to sign on as the national coach of Bosnia
instead of extending his contract with the Iran Football Federation.
Blazevic resigned as Iran's coach after
his failure to take them to the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan, and the
former Croatia manager was at one point linked to the Ukraine national
coaching post.
That position has since gone to former
Soviet international Leonid Buryak, and Blazevic currently faces
competition from Blaz Sliskovic to succeed Miso Smajlovic as coach of
Bosnia.
Blazevic said that although his deal with
Bosnia is not complete, he is confident that a concrete offer should
materialize within the coming weeks.
"Don't write it's a done deal because it
isn't," said Blazevic to the Jutarnji List daily in Zagreb. "Actually,
you can say that I am going to (Bosnian capital) Sarajevo.
