Both sides started the game nervously as neither seemed to gain control. Hercules looked happy to sit on their first leg lead but the lively pace and movement of Jorge Galan and Dady nearly opened up the game inside the first 15 minutes.
Massoud Shojaei also looked in good form and went close from distance in the 30th minute. It was clear that the away side had approached the second leg with a very organised mindset.
Kiko Femenia played some first class passes but Jorge Tote seemed to have trouble timing his forward runs. Pina Dani was racing around the pitch and got himself booked on the stroke of half-time, spoiling a solid first 45 minutes for Hercules.
Osasuna were clearly given a talking to at half-time. On 50 minutes Massoud sent the ball into the corner of the goal, giving Unal Alba no hope of saving it.
The home team had all of the momentum. Dady then went close a few minutes later as Hercules were doing well not to crumble. Hercules tried to hit back but the passing and control was sloppy.
Player swaps injected some energy into the side but the home team looked comfortable in the closing minutes.
