Football in the Middle East and in Spain are two different worlds, but the 24-year-old is slowly and surely adapting to his new environment.
The versatile Iranian has played in 24 matches so far this season, three in Copa del Rey and 21 in the league. But he really found his place in the team afer his solid performance against Real Madrid less than two months ago.
With the help of Osasuna's translator César Firooz, Shojaei answered the jounalists' questions.
He explained why he did not celebrate his first goal in Osasuna's uniform. "There is nothing special about scoring a goal after 24 games. But I am delighted and relieved having finally scored that goal".
About the criticism he had received in the last months, Shojaei said: "It happens to every player. I prefer to concentrate on positive things, like the support of my team mates and my coach."
The former Saipa man displayed one of his best performance playing along Pandiani as a striker against Numancia.
"Yes, I prefer playing in that position, but it's El Mister's (Camacho) decision and I will play wherever he decides.
"I don't know if I am a better player in that particular position, but I always try to give the best I can on the pitch," Shojaei added.
Shojaei also is one of the most fouled player in the league, but the sizzling Iranian takes it with sportsmanship.
"There are very good defenders in this league and they are doing their job. I don't think they are harsh on me".
During the press conference Shojaei finally smiled when asked about his teammates and the people of Pamplona. "The whole team has been very nice to me. At first, I became friends with two or three players, but now I have good relations with all of them.
"From the first day I arrived here, people have been very nice with me. They welcomed me with open arms".
About the progression of his team, Masoud added that "Osasuna becomes a better side every week, we have a good side. If I had I to explain everything we have improved in, I would have to write a book.
"The most important thing now is that we believe in ourselves."
