The IFF has forbid all football players and managers to appear on TV programs without first receiving permission from the federation.
The ban was imposed after the popular sports show, 90, criticized the IFF and the Physical Education Organization (PEO) for their inefficiency in managing Iran's football affairs.
Mehdi Taj, the IFF deputy head, said the TV show's criticism of the IFF decisions was not acceptable as it was direct interference in the federation's domestic affairs. However, he added that the IFF's ban only aimed at making 'positive changes' in the program.
His remarks come amid mounting criticism against the IFF move to ban the most popular sports show in the country.
Sports experts, football managers and players have voiced their support for 90, saying the ban would be step backwards for professionalism in Iran's football.
The sports program angered federation's officials when it questioned the naming of the IFF as the AFC association of 2008.
90 also criticized the fixture of the Iran's Premier League (IPL) matches, which occasionally coincided with the national team's AFC Cup and World Cup qualifiers.
