Branko Al Ahli

PLDC – Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic has reportedly joined Saudi Arabian football club Al-Ahli.

The Croatian coach has reportedly penned a two-year contract for €1.5 million with the Saudi football club.

Persepolis failed to convince Ivankovic to remain at the club after the Iranian team failed to settle his debts.

Persepolis general manager Iraj Arab had said Ivankovic would remain as the team’s coach for one more year.

Under guidance of the ex-Iran coach, Persepolis won three successive Iran Professional League titles. Persepolis also won Hazfi Cup and three Super Cups.

Al-Ahli based in Jeddah was founded in 1937.

Domestically, Al-Ahli have won nine Professional League titles, 13 King Cups, six Crown Prince Cups, and one Super Cup. In international club football, Al-Ahli have won three GCC Champions League and one Arab Club Championship and have reached two AFC Champions League finals.
