Carlos Queiroz says goodbye

PLDC – Carlos Queiroz stepped down as Iran coach following his team’s 3-0 defeat to Japan in the Asian Cup 2019 semifinals on Monday.

Queiroz thanked his players and the staff for working alongside him for the past eight years and expressed satisfaction in doing the job on his terms.

He posted a message on Instagram stating, “There are no words to express my gratitude to this players, for everything they have done all over these years, for their effort, support and commitment.

It was an honor to be side by side with these great men, in this eight year journey, facing all the adversities, always and always with great character, the top character for which I believe they deserved to play the final.

Congratulations to Japan, the best team tonight, but honour to Team Melli, for what they built for their people, for the football they show to the World, and for the legacy they take to the future.

This was one of the best football families of my career and I wish all these players the best! Now the end is here. I did it my way, giving the very best of me, with the support of my staff – thank you guys! And gratitude you to all the Iranian fans.”

What Carlos Quieroz has done for Iran is nothing short of incredible.  No coach in world football could have done a better job for Iran.  Those ungrateful idiots criticizing him should be ashamed

Yes we lost to Japan but that does not mean it was his fault as he was not playing the football but the same player who played the last 5 game was on the ground but the could not make it as it was not their day.
We can't expect to be winner every match and if we don't lose we wont figure out what and where is our weakness.

Carlos K did great job. Our football federation sucked and they suppose to replace the federation staff not CK.
As long as bunch of mullah and imam are the decision maker on our sport and everything else we wont be able to get anywhere.
With inshaallah and ya ali we can't get anywhere.

It was bad enough to lose the game, let’s not lose our common sense. It is hard to prepare a team like when minus Yamen, Lebanon, Jordan and a few other low level football teams no other country would want to play friendlies with our national...

It was bad enough to lose the game, let’s not lose our common sense. It is hard to prepare a team like when minus Yamen, Lebanon, Jordan and a few other low level football teams no other country would want to play friendlies with our national team. He did the best could and future will prove that. No half decent coach would want all that dramas. Please don’t get angry with my comment, I just want us to consider all the adversities that he had to overcome before judging him so hastily.

You have a weakness & unappreciative attitude for saying he has not done anything for Team Melli.
Look at all statistics.

We always have to blame somebody instead of appreciating what a great coach he is and what he did for the National team with all limitations he had.
