Tehran Times - Former Bayern Munich and Manchester United coach coach Louis van Gaal will reportedly travel to Iran for Team Melli coaching job.
T-online.de reported that Louis van Gaal will have two job offers in Iran.
According to German media reports, he could succeed Carlos Queiroz as coach of the Iranian national football team. The Portuguese current deal expires in February.
The 67-year-old coach is also a possible candidate to take charge of Iranian football club Tractor Sazi Tabriz, currently the richest club in the first Iranian league.
The Tabriz-based football team have recently parted company with Welshman John Toshack.
They have penned contract with Iran national football team captains Masoud Shojaei, Ashkan Dejagah and Ehsan Haji Safi but are sixth in the table, four points behind leader Padideh.
Louis van Gaal led the Netherlands to the third place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was appointed as the new manager for Manchester United on a three-year contract after the World Cup.
The Dutchman started his coaching career at Ajax in 1991 and has already coached Barcelona, AZ and Bayern Munich.
On 17 January 2017 it was announced that Van Gaal had retired "for family reasons". He later said that it was only a sabbatical.
