AFC - South Asia Football Federation semi-finalists Pakistan announced on Thursday plans are currently underway to bring the national side on a tour of Cameroon in July and August. Agha Liaquat Ali, General Secretary of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), confirmed with The News International that an agreement has already been struck with the Cameroon Football Association. Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran have also been earmarked as possible tour destinations and while plans to travel to the trio of countries are still at an infant age, Ali is confident concrete decisions between the relevant parties will be stamped soon. "The dates of the matches are yet to be finalised though football officials although both the countries have agreed for the proposed tour," said Ali. "The governments of three countries (Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran) have entered in some cultural agreements with Pakistan under which they've offered our football team to play friendly matches. "Such matches will ultimately help us improve the standard of game in our country and we are always ready to welcome such an offer by any country." |
