Tehran Times - Iranian popular football teams Persepolis and Esteghlal were held by their opponents in Iran Professional League (IPL).
Persepolis drew 1-1 with Gostaresh Foolad in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
Siamak Nemati’s 94th-minute equalizer rescued a point for Persepolis.
Esmaeil Farhadi had scored a goal in the 74th minute.
Esteghlal also played out a goalless draw with Padided in Mashhad on Friday.
Esteghlal captain Omid Ebrahimi failed to convert his penalty with two minutes remaining.
“We were held by Padideh but it doesn’t matter. I am satisfied with the way we played in this match,” Esteghlal coach Winfried Schaefer said in the post-match news conference.
