The football match was scheduled to take place on Friday in Ahvaz’s Ghadir Stadium.
The World Health Organization lists Ahvaz as one of the world’s most polluted cities, and for much of the year a yellow smog blankets the city.
According to the Iran Football League Organization, the match will likely be held on Saturday.
Foolad has a chance to move up to second place even with a draw in this match.
Persepolis leads the table with 45 points, followed by Pars Jonoubi with 33 points.
