Tehran Times - Iran national football team coach Carlos Queiroz is a candidate to take charge of Algeria, according to competition.dz.
Algeria is without a coach after Georges Leekens resigned following the team's early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 67-year-old coach was Algeria's third coach in a year, following on from Milovan Rajevac and Christian Gourcuff.
Queiroz has been reportedly nominated to take the job but his Iran’s contract includes $1 million release clause.
Queiroz has been previously linked with Algeria, South Africa, Egypt's Al Ahly and QPR.
The former Real Madrid and Portugal coach took Iran to its fourth World Cup in 2014 and the team is top of its qualifying group for Russia 2018. Iran is ranked No. 29 by FIFA, the highest in Asia, and was unbeaten in 2016.
