KABIR - The Argentinean head coach of Al Wasl, Diego Maradona, asked the new management of this club to renew the contract of Mohammed Reza Khalatbari for additional years.

Khalatbari left Zob Ahan in June 2011 and signed a contract with Al Gharrafa Qatar. In early 2012, he was moved to UAE Pro-League side Al Wasl during the winter transfer window. Currently Iranian clubs are looking to sign with this player. Giant Persepolis and Esteghlal, two most popular clubs in Iran, have negotiated with Khalatbari.

“We started our negotiations with Khalatbari and the signs are good. We had really good negotiations. Maradona should withdraw his offer when Esteghlal wants to sign with this player.” Ali Fathollahzadeh, the president of Esteghlal FC told reporters.

However Khalatbari also considers offer from Persepolis. But it seems this club is going to sign with Bruno Metsu, the French manager. Khalatbari didn’t have good time in Al Gharrafa when Bruno Metsu was the manager of that club.
