TEHRANTIMES - Amir Ghalenoei has been appointed as Esteghlal coach on Monday.
Ghalenoei headed Traktorsazi last season in the Iran Professional League (IPL) and the Tabriz-based football team finished runner-up to Sepahan.
This is for the third time that Ghalenoei took charge of Esteghlal. He was named Esteghlal coach in 2003 and won the IPL title in 2006.
The 49-year-old coach left Esteghlal for the national team and returned to the Iranian football popular club in 2008 and inspired them to win title for the second time.
Ghalenoei has also won two successive championships with Sepahan before he left the Isfahan giant for Traktorsazi.
Ghalenoei replaced Parviz Mazloumi in Esteghlal.
