TEHRANTIMES – Sepahan of Iran beat Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli in the last match of the AFC Champions League group stage.


Sepahan, who won the Iranian football league for the third time in a row last week, beat Al Ahli 2-1 in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr Stadium.

Sukaj opened the scoring for Sepahan in the 19th minute but Imad Ali equalized the match one minute after the hour mark.

With four minutes remaining, Sepahan defender Mohsen Bengar scored the winning goal and the Iranian team advanced to the knockout stage as the first .
