Esteghlal beats Al Rayyan in Asian Champions League [VIDEO]

TEHRANTIMES - Iran’s Esteghlal defeated Al Rayyan of Qatar 3-0 on Wednesday in the group stage of the AFC Champions League thanks to a brace from Arash Borhani and a goal from Esmaeil Sharifat.

In the match, which was held at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Borhani put the Blues into the lead from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute.

Substitute Sharifat sprung the offside trap and guided the ball into back of Al Rayyan’s net in the 77th minute.

In the dying moments of the match, Borhani scored Esteghlal’s third goal.
