PFDC - TEHRAN, Iran annouced Iraq as opponents for the first of two friendly matches during their training camp in May.

The match will be played on May 26 in Turkey, where Team Melli will hold a training camp near Istanbul, Iranian news agency ISNA confirmed.

A second match is planned with the opposition still to be announced. Earlier reports suggested Japan would be an option as they are planning a training camp in Turkey as well and are looking for a good friendly match there.

Iran coach Carlos Queiroz currently is in Turkey to check the local facilities, but will return to Tehran on Saturday.

Iran are gearing up for the World Cup qualifiers against Uzbekistan (Tashkent, June 3) and Qatar (Tehran, June 12).

Korea Republic and Lebanon are the further two teams in group A, while group B consists of Australia, Japan, Iraq, Jordan and Oman.

The top two of the groups will qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil whereas the two third placed teams and a South American team will compete for another spot.
