PTV - Iran's national women futsal team has reached the final of the 2012 West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Women Futsal Championship in Manama, Bahrain, after wining against Lebanon.

The Iranian sportswomen, who faced the hosts in the final match day of Group A on April 7 and qualified for the semifinal after a 6-0 victory, trounced their Lebanese rivals 4-3 at the Khalifa Sports Hall on Tuesday.

Iran’s Leila Eghbali opened the scoring only three minutes into the match. Only two minutes later, Reem Chalhoub seized a perfect chance to put the ball into the back of the net and level the game.

Fatemeh Etedadi doubled Iran's lead in the 17th minute. Sara Bakri fired home in the 31st minute to equalize the match for Lebanon.

Both teams had a handful of good opportunities during the second half and injury time of the match to score goals. However, they missed their chances.

Iran finally edged past Lebanon 4-3 in the penalty shoot-out.

In another match of the day, Jordan beat Bahrain 4-1 to reach the final.

The final will be played on Thursday, when Bahrain takes on Lebanon for the third slot.

A total of seven teams from Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Qatar took part in the 2012 West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Women Futsal Championship.

Iran was in Group A along with Bahrain and Iraq; while Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Qatar formed Group B.

The 2012 West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Women Futsal Championship, which began on April 3, wraps up on April 12.
