TEHRANTIMES - Iran moved up one place in the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday.
In the world rankings, Iran climbed 44th place with 623 points.
The Persians remain at fourth place among the Asian teams. Japan is still the best Asian team with 869 points followed by Australia (866) and South Korea (752).
World and European champions Spain remain unchallenged atop of FIFA's monthly rankings. The Netherlands remain second in the rankings and Germany is third.
The FIFA world rankings are determined by points awarded from match results in a three-year period, with more recent games given greater weight.
