Pohang Steelers (KOR) v FA Cup winners (THA)
Due to the withdrawal of Liaoning Whowin and Persipura Jayapura, the East Zone Playoffs were reduced to three teams. A three-way draw was conducted with Adelaide United receiving direct entry to the Group Stage, where they were drawn in Group E alongside the winner of the Pohang versus Thai FA Cup winners match.
If Pohang win, they will be placed in position E4 and Adelaide United will occupy E2 while if the Thai FA Cup winners emerge victorious then they will take position E2 and Adelaide will go to position E4.
