Sepahan downed Foulad 2-0 at the Naqsh-e Jahan stadium in Isfahan on Wednesday, Mehr news agency reported.
The Isfahan-based club got off to a good start in the first half but did not score the opener until eight minutes after the hour mark, when Iraqi striker Emad Mohammed Ridha tapped in to put Sepahan ahead.
About 10 minutes later, Sepahan's Serbian player Milorad Janjus scored the second goal of the match with a volley from behind the 18-yard box to clinch the victory for the hosts.
In other matches of the day, Shahrdari defeated Naft Abadan 2-0, Mes edged past Malavan 1-0, Naft Tehran and Saba played out to a 2-2 draw, and Sepasi tied 3-3 with Mes Sarcheshmeh.
