MNA - Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz has said that the national team needs to work together to make more progress.

Iran football team has qualified for the next round of the 2014 World Cup with one game in hand. The Persians are scheduled to face Qatar on February 29 next year.

“We are going to advance to the next round as the first team. Iran has an important task in the next round for booking a place in the 2014 World Cup,” Queiroz was quoted on Sunday as saying by the Iran Football Federation’s website.

He added, “From now on, we have to work more. Iranian players showed their commitment in the previous matches.”

“To qualify for the 2014 World Cup, we need to work together. Teams such as Japan, South Korea and Australia are planning to advance to the next stage according to their own capabilities, but we also just have to work, work and work,” the 58-year-old Portuguese noted.

“It’s my motto: if we make just one mistake in our plan or our preparation, it could cost us dearly. On the contrary, a good preparation and our unity will play a key role in our success,” Queiroz underlined.
