Thesun - BAHRAIN defender Rashed Al Hooti made history for all the wrong reasons when he became the fastest man to be sent off in international history.

Al Hooti saw red after committing a terrible two-footed lunge on an Iranian opponent just 34 seconds into their World Cup qualifying clash.

And the Bahrainis saw their night continue to go downhill from there, eventually losing 6-0 to their hosts.

Iran top Group E in the Asian qualifying round, with seven points from their opening three games.

But the crushing defeat left their opponents third, with four points from the same number of matches played.
