Ivankovic is new Al Ittifaq coach

AFC - Croation Branko Ivankovic has been appointed as the new coach of Saudi League side Al Ittifaq.

Al Ittifaq finished third in the domestic league last season and earned a ticket for the next year’s AFC Champions League.

According to media reports, the 57-year-old has inked a one-year deal.

The former Iran coach, who guided Team Melli to third place in the 2004 AFC Asian Cup, took China’s Shandong Luneng to the Chinese Super League crown in 2010 but was shown the door following their group phase exit from the AFC Champions League this season.
