PTV - The league titleholder Sepahan has blanked Naft Abadan to stand on top of the Iran Premier League (IPL) standings with 55 points.

The Isfahan-based club beat Naft 2-0 on Saturday in a postponed match from the 15th week of the IPL.

Most of the first half was played in the middle of the field and both sides could not make any changes in the scoreboard.

Seconds into the hour mark, Ibrahim Toure scored the opener to give the scant fans at Isfahan's Fouldshahr stadium a reason to cheer.

In the dying minutes of the match, Toure doubled the lead to seal the victory for Sepahan.

The other Isfahani powerhouse Zob Ahan is now second with 53 points, four points adrift of Esteqlal which is third, and two points shy of the table topper Sepahan.

Teraktorsazi is fourth on 46 points, and Persepolis sits fifth with 44 points.

The next week of the IPL will witness another clash of titans between Tehran's giants Esteqlal and Persepolis. The Tehran derby will be held on March 30 at Azadi Stadium.
