Iran's Arch-Rivals to Face off in Super Cup

FNA - The two arch-rivals in Iranian football, Persepolis and Esteqlal, are scheduled to compete in the Super Cup at Tehran's Azadi Stadium in late July.

Press tv quoted the Iranian Premier League organization as announcing that the match will be held at Tehran's 100,000-seater Azadi Stadium on the 29th or 30th of July.

The Super Cup is held annually between the champions of the Iranian Premier League and the Hazfi (knockout) Cup.

Esteqlal snatched the prestigious Hazfi Cup title with a 3-0 victory over Pegah Gilan in a breathtaking game on June 16.

Persepolis won the Iranian Premier League title after defeating Sepahan FC of Isfahan 2-1 on May 17.
