Eintracht Frankfurt's Mahdavikia out with knee injury

IRNA - Mehdi Mahdavikia will miss Eintracht Frankfurt's season-ending Bundesliga match against MSV Duisburg with a knee and joint injury, the daily Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper reported Saturday.

The Iranian national team skipper will receive intensive medical treatment and is expected to rest over the next three to four weeks.

Mahdavikia is also anticipated to sit out Iran's crucial first- round World Cup qualifiers as a result of his injuries.

The former Hamburger SV defender has been hit by a series of injuries over the past Bundesliga season.
