Persianmirror - The Iranian
Football Federation (IRIFF) has invited Scotland for a friendly football
match to be played in Tehran in May, the two sides last played each other in
world cup 1978 with honours shared in a 1-1 draw with Iran scoring both
goals (one an own goal). But the BBC have now confirmed that Iran have invited Scotland to play a match in Tehran in May, this match would benefit both sides; Iran have started their world cup 2010 campaign and would benefit from a friendly match against an European side such as Scotland, the Scots hoping to qualify for the next world cup would equally benefit from playing a top Asian side, Scotland might well find themselves drawn against an Asian side in the world cup therefore playing Iran would be a good experience for Scotland.
