FNA - Iran's Football Federation (IFF) appointed Afshin Peyrovani as an assistant to Javier Clemente.

The former defender of Iran's National Football Team will accompany the Spaniard with Mansour Ebrahimzadeh in the 2010 World Cup qualifications. Ebrahimzadeh has been caretaker coach in the past month.

37 year old Peyrovani played over 200 games for Perspolis, and won 66 caps with Iran, before retiring from football in 2005. He was a member of Iran team in 1998 World Cup.

Iran are to play against Costa Rica on Wednesday ahead of the Syria match as its 2010 World Cup qualifier debut. Clemente has yet come to the country and the National Team will be headed by the Iranian duo.
