PLDC - Mes of Kerman under the newly appointed coach Farhad Kazemi could not escape a 4-1 defeat in the hands of Perspolis Tehran on Friday.

The last game of the 24th week of the IPL, Persian Gulf Cup, was played in front of 30,000 Red faithful and the Tehrani giants who haven't won a game in the last five league games came out strong and threatened the visitor's goal a few times in the beginning parts of the half.

The pressure paid off mid way through the half as Nikbakht-Vahedi headed the ball into the net after a perfect cross from the right. The Reds kept on the pressure and had a few good chances in the remaining minutes of the half but the scoreboard displayed 1-0 at the half with the visitors rarely creating any danger on Vaezi's goal.

The second half saw more pressure from the home team while the visitors also worked hard in the middle of the field to take control of the game and to create chances, but it was Perspolis that scored three times within the first half an hour of the second half to go into a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Hussein Kaabi, Pejman Nouri and Ziad Shaboo were the scorers as the fans enjoyed a smooth attacking football from their team in Azadi. Mes Kerman however took one back after a beautiful pass deep behind Perspolis's defense which was converted by Saber Mirghorbani. This was the last real action from the game which ended 4-1 in Favor of Perspolis.

Esteghlal currently leads the table with 47 points, while Saipa is right behind the leaders with 46 pts, and Esteghlal Ahvaz with 42, Sepahan 39 and Perspolis with 37 points are following the leaders.

The IPL will resume this Thursday with 2 matches from week 25 including Perspolis's trip to Shiraz to face Fajr Sepasi in Hafeziyeh.
Esteghlal Tehran will also face a team from Shiraz, but the Blues are at home to Bargh on Friday and Saipa will face Esteghlal Ahvaz in Karaj and will hope to get back to winning ways after seven games without a win.
