IRNA - A scheduled visit by the head of Iran's Physical Education Organization, Mohammad Aliabadi, to Malaysia was cancelled following a decision made by FIFA to suspend Iran from all international games.

The Emergency Committee of the Swiss-based International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) composed of the FIFA president and a representative of each of the six confederations on Thursday decided to suspend the Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation (IRIFF) from all international activities because of government intervention.

The FIFA Emergency Committee took the decision after having determined that the situation of the IRIFF was not favorable to FIFA's governing rules.

Aliabadi was scheduled to arrive in Malaysia Friday night to accompany members of the national disabled athletic team
participating in the 9th Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled (FESPIC).

Over 50 Asian states are taking part in the inaugural ceremony of the 9th FESPIC Games scheduled for this evening. The games will run for 10 days.

The Iranian team consists of 274 men and women athletes who are participating in the games for the first time since it was first held in Japan in 1975.
