Iran beat Iraq 2-0 in LG cup soccer

IRIB - Shase Rezae and Mehdi Rajab Zadea scored as Iran outscored Iraq 2-0 to open the three-team LG cup soccer tournament on Wednesday.

Rezae scored in the 23rd minute and Zadea added a long-range effort in the 70th before a crowd of 3,000 at King Abdullah Stadium.

The game marked the beginning of the 10th annual friendly tournament, held in the Middle East and Africa every year since 1997.

Jordan take on Iran on Friday as part of this year's matches, dubbed the "peace" tournament.
