Shojaei joins UAE’s Al Sharjah

AFC - Iranian midfielder Masood Shojaei has followed in the footsteps of striker Rasool Khatibi by joining UAE Cup runners-up Al Sharjah.

The 22-year-old Shojaei makes the switch from Saipa, who finished third in the Iran Pro League last year, to the UAE club which could manage only a sixth-place finish in the UAE League before losing to Al Ain in the UAE Cup final.

Shojaei featured prominently in Team Melli’s World Cup game against Angola.
