Uruguay caretaker boss Gustavo Ferrin has
named 23 home-based players only for next weekend's international friendly
against Saudi Arabia.
Ferrin will not call on any of his foreign-based stars for the March 18
encounter in Riyadh or players from reigning Uruguayan champions Rocha and
giants Nacional, both of whom are playing in the Copa Libertadores.
The Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) has also confirmed three more
friendlies against Serbia & Montenegro (May 27 in Belgrade), Iran (May 31
in Hamburg) and the Ivory Coast (June 4 in Paris).
Uruguay, who lost 2-1 to England in injury-time last Wednesday at Anfield,
failed to make it into the World Cup after losing their final play-off
against Australia.
Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, will play Germany 2006 in Group H, alongside Spain,
Tunisia and Ukraine.
