MNA – Persepolis advanced to the last 16 of the League Cup quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Shushtar’s Kesht-o-Sanat in Azadi Stadium in western Tehran Sunday.
Midfielder Davud Seyyed-Abbassi fired home after 38 minutes to take the lead for the reds.

A powerful kick from Persepolis striker Ali Alizadeh just before halftime hit the post.

The home team was forced to play with 10 men in the last 21 minutes as midfielder Hamed Kavianpur was sent off by the referee Alireza Faghani.

Persepolis, however, snatched the second six minutes from time when the advancing defender Shayth Rezaii found the net after a one-two with substitute forward Sohrab Entezari.

Under new Dutch manager Arie Haan, Persepolis will array against Abu Molsem.
