Iran's Karimi injured in Bayern loss to Hamburg

Reuters - Iran's Ali Karimi suffered an ankle injury in Bayern Munich's 2-1 home defeat by Hamburg SV on Saturday and will be out for six to eight weeks, the club said.

The midfielder was injured in the second half of the match played on a muddy pitch amid heavy snowfall. Karimi is expected to wear a cast on his right ankle for the next 10 days.

Iran have been drawn to play Mexico, Angola and Portugal in Group D at the World Cup finals in Germany starting in June.
