Tehran - Saipa pulverized the visiting Barq 6-0 in the seventh week of the fifth Iran pro league in Shariati stadium in Karaj, 35 km west of Tehran, Friday.

Majid Ayoubi put Saipa ahead in the 37th minute when he headed home a Hamid-Reza Rajabi corner.

The home team doubled the scoring nine minutes into the second half as Mohsen Khalili sent a set piece from Massoud Shojaei past keeper Reza Haj-Osbouei with a header.

Saipa hit the third two minutes later. Amir Vaziri clutched on to a through ball to beat Osbouei in a man-to-man challenge.

Barq conceded the fourth goal on 57 minutes. Shojaei found the net, heading home an Ayoubi cross.

Osbouei was forced to take the ball out of the net in the 59th minute following a cross from Darioush Yazdani and a goal-bound header by Rajabi.

Vaziri completed the visitor's rout on 65 minutes when his header kissed the net.
 

Fajr-e Sepassi, Saba fight to draw

Fajr-e Sepassi and Saba Battery struggled to a 1-1 tie in the seventh week of the fifth Iran pro league in Hafezieh stadium in southern capital city of Shiraz Friday.

The visitor took the lead seven minutes from the break when the advancing defender Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh beat Fajr goalie Hossein Ashna with a header.

Fajr came close to equalizer in the 42nd minute when Mojtaba Zarei was brought down by Mohsen Soltani, leaving the referee Hedayat Mombini with no option but show the penalty spot.

But Hashem Beikzadeh failed to convert the spot-kick as keeper Asghar Karamollahi spectacularly palmed away the ball.

The home side, however, leveled the match in the 54th minute when Vahid Rezaei curled home a free-kick from just behind the box.

Fajr moved up one place from rock bottom, occupying the 15th slot on meager five points and the the league cup-winning Saba Battery lies in the 10th place with eight points.
