Hashemian overwhelmed by Hanover 96 fans' cordial welcome

IRNA - New Hanover 96 forward Vahid Hashemian voiced surprise over the cordial welcome by hundreds of fans during the first practice session of the club's 2005/6 preseason camp, the press reported Wednesday.

Reacting to the fan applause and cheers as he entered the football pitch, the former Bayern player said, "This here is just like at Bayern Munich."
Hashemian, who wears jersey number 16, joined Hanover last month on a three-year deal.

Hanover's season opener will be at home against Bundesliga rivals Hertha Berlin on August 6.
