Mahdavikia voted as best Iranian player in German Bundesliga

IRNA - Hamburger SV right winger Mehdi Mahdavikia was voted as the best Iranian player in the 2004-5 German Bundesliga season, according to a fan poll released Thursday by the German-based football portal Iran-fussball.

HSV's Mahdavikia received 39.6 percent followed by Bayern Munich striker Vahid Hashemian with 35.1 percent, FC Kaiserslautern's Ferydoon Zandi with 15 percent, Hansa Rostock's Amir Shapourzadeh with 6.6 percent, Hertha Berlin's Ashkan Dejagah with 2.4 percent and VfL Bochum's Moharram Navidkia with 1.3 percent.

Mahdavikia was twice selected into the weekly Bundesliga all-star team in the just-concluded season.
