Baku sets sight on veteran Daei

Tehran - An Azeri club, Baku sport club, has set sight on international Ali Daei, its manager, Zinal Mohamedov said on Wednesday.

Ali Daei was crowned as world's best scorer in 2004 with 103 goals, according to international football body's (FIFA) meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, held last week to award world's best footballer of the year.

Mohamedov said his club has had priliminary talks with the former Iranian Bayern Munich forward.

Daei, 36, said he would think over the offer.

Mohamedov said talks would be postponed until the next year, but he was hopeful to the consequences of negotiations.

Mohamedov described Daei as a professional player and said grounds should be prepared before his move to Baku.
