Esteqlal edges past Lebanese squad

Dubai  - Esteqlal of Tehran beat the under-23 football team of Lebanon in the United Arab Emirates' Rashed cup here Sunday night.

Playing on the pitch of police officers stadium, Esteqlal defeated the Lebanese team 2-1.

Strikers Gholam-Reza Enayati and Ali Samereh scored for the blues.

The win brought Esteqlal's points to four as it was held by Abu Dhabi's water and power to a goalless draw in its opening match.

Iran's representative in the international tournament will array against a Senegalese team Wednesday night.

Divided into two groups, 10 teams are competing in the tourney.
