German international Kuranyi out until October

wldcup - VfB Stuttgart's German international striker Kevin Kuranyi's ankle injury is worse than first feared and he is now set to sit on the sidelines until the end of October.

Kuranyi, 22, sustained the injury in last Thursday's UEFA Cup win over Ujpest Budapest but the diagnosed four-week lay-off has been doubled.

"I hope to be back as soon as possible," said Kuranyi. "It was all going so well."

Kuranyi will miss a number of Stuttgart's Bundesliga matches and Germany's international friendly with Iran on October 9.
