Wldcup - Former Croatia coach Miroslav Blazevic, who led his country to third place at the 1998 World Cup, has undergone surgery for prostate cancer in Austria.

The 68-year-old, nicknamed 'Ciro,' was operated in an Innsbruck hospital on Wednesday, the Vecernji list daily reported Thursday.

"The operation went well, there are no complications and I hope that I'll be home next week," the paper quoted Blazevic as saying.

Blazevic announced he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June, during the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal. He is currently coaching Croatian first division side Varteks Varazdin.
