AFC – REPORTS from Bahrain claimed Iran will not participating in the Bahrain International Tournament due to kick off on December 12. The tournament's public relations official Yousuf Al Sheridah told Al Ayyam local newspaper that Iran will be substituted by two African nations. "We were shocked when we knew that Iran will not participate in the tournament despite that they confirmed their participation on July 26,” said Al Sheridah. "Two African nations - Congo DR and Kenya - both showed their willingness to participate in the tournament. The Organizing Officials of the tournament will take a stand in the coming days to ensure a good tournament delivery." Other teams slated for the quadrangular tournament have confirmed their participation, the Iraqi side promising their senior side while African giants Egypt have vowed to bring all their key players to Bahrain. |
