AFC - IRANIAN international striker Vahid Hashemian scored two for Bochum in a 4-0 win over visiting Kaiserslautern in a German Bundesliga match played on Saturday. With the result over the weekend, Bochum are now on a five match unbeaten run and standing at sixth place after eight games. Having opted to stay on in Germany rather than make a cross Atlantic flight back to Iran for the 2004 Asian Cup qualifying, Hashemian’s decision to prove his worth in Europe is beginning to earn his due respect from his peers. In a match played at the Ruhr Stadium, Kaiserslautern went a man down after Marian Hristov was given his matching orders in the 29th minute. The opening period finished 0-0 but Hashemian broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart, skipping the challenge of a defender before firing low and hard into the net. Hashemian scored his second of the day seven minutes from time, this time latching onto a brilliant pass from Delron Buckley to put the ball past Kaiserslautern goalkeeper Tim Wiese.
