AFC - United Arab EmiratesAL Ain striker Farhad Majidi, whose scored a sensational goal on his debut in the second leg of the AFC Champions League semi-final, will undergo a late fitness test before tonight's final against BEC Tero Sasana after the Iran international pulled a groin muscle in training. The club is remaining tight-lipped on whether or not the former Al Wasl player will be able to face the Thai side, with the official line being that they are "hopeful" that Majidi will be starting for the UAE champions. "First of all I have to say that the goal was because of the whole team’s effort and hard work," Majidi said about opening his Ain account. "Of course I am very happy to have scored especially on a stage like the AFC Champions League. "Al Ain is one of the best teams not just in the UAE but in Asia also, and joining them has given me the chance to play at the highest level, like I did when I was with Esteghlal." |
