Persepolis loses to Saipa in Shohada Cup

PLDC – Persepolis football team was defeated against Saipa 2-0 and failed to reach the final of the four-a-side Shohada Cup.

In the match held in Tehran’s Share-Qods Stadium, Mohammad Reza Soleymani scored the first goal and Persepolis midfielder Ahmad Nourollahi scored an own goal in the 68th minute.

Earlier on the day, Shahin Bushehr defeated Nirooy-e Zamini 2-1.

On Friday, Saipa will play Shahin Bushehr to determine the champion and Persepolis meet Nirooy-e Zamini in the third-place match.

The first edition of Shohada Cup was held in 2012, where Tractor Sazi won the title after defeating Esteghlal 2-1. 

Saba claimed the title of the second edition, edging past Persepolis 1-0.

Tractor Sazi once again won the title in the third edition after defeating Saipa 3-0.
