Iraj Arab

PLDC – Iraj Arab announced his resignation from post of Persepolis general manager.

Arab, who replaced Hamid Garshasbi in February, failed to provide funds for the Iranian football club.

Garshasbi left his post due to a law barring the employment of retirees in government, state or public institutions which use state funds or facilities.

Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, who has previously worked as Iran football federation general secretary, is a candidate to be appointed as Persepolis GM.

Mohammad Nabi is also a member of Persepolis’s board of directors at the moment.

Arab failed to pay Branko Ivankovic and the team’s coaching staff their salary.

Also, Persepolis players have not yet been completely paid.

Persepolis is going to extend Ivankovic’s contract but the Croat has said he will sign a new contract if they pay his debt in full.

Under coaching of Ivankovic, Persepolis completed a domestic double in Iran football this year.
